Your Unit Manager‘s primary function is to facilitate your treatment plan, coordinate the multi-disciplinary treatment team and ensure the smooth running of the Unit. Your Unit Manager will meet with you during your first day at the Clinic.
The first days of your admission are usually spent familiarising yourself with your new surroundings as well as building a therapeutic rapport with your treating team and Unit staff. To make this transition more comfortable we endeavour to allocate newly admitted patients a private room, however this is not always possible.
The Clinic has comfortable lounge rooms; large flat screen television; laundry with washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board; and tea and coffee-making facilities. The patient noticeboards near the nurses office have a copy of the program timetable, information about Official Visitors, the cinema program and other general information.
You will feel most comfortable wearing casual clothing around the Clinic during the day and will also require night attire, toiletries and other personal items. For safety and insurance purposes, covered shoes must be worn at all times and, if planning to use the gymnasium, you’ll need to bring joggers and medical clearance from your doctor may be required.
Please do not bring valuables such as a large amount of money, jewellery or expensive appliances.
You might like to bring a personal stereo or small radio/cassette player with headphones. Please clearly label your belongings. A television is available for viewing in each of the lounge rooms or one can be hired for use during your stay.
Please bring with you any medications that you are prescribed.
Mobiles phones and devices are able to be used throughout the hospital unless signage or nursing staff advise otherwise. Unfortunately Lakeside Clinic is unable to take responsibility for any loss or damage to your phone or devices during your stay.
