The day programs offered at Lakeside Clinic are an essential part of your journey of recovery from a mental health disorder.
They are ideal if you have been an inpatient, so you can continue to work on any skills you learnt in hospital after you go home with the aim of breaking the cycle of relapse and the need for re-hospitalisation. They are also beneficial if you don’t need to go into hospital.
Your referring clinician may feel that you would benefit from being part of a supportive group psychotherapy program, where people help each other by sharing experiences and you can see that you are not alone.
Our programs are conducted in a light and airy dedicated area and deal with a wide range of issues including:
- depression & bipolar disorders
- relationship issues
- low self-esteem
- trauma & conflict
- chronic stress
- grief & life changes
- unresolved childhood issues
You will learn how to manage your thoughts, feelings and behaviours in a healthy way so you can develop a new understanding of ‘self’ and how you can improve your own life.
While some programs are for a specified length of time to work on particular issues, others provide support for daily living on an ongoing basis so you have somewhere to ‘touch base’ each week. Along the way you will experience periods of personal growth but new issues may also arise. For these reasons, the day programs are very flexible so you will feel supported on every step of your journey.
